1.  Exam week:  need to keep grades up or will not be able to swim meets for the rest of the season!

6:00 a.m. Bus leaves

12:30 -0100 bus returns to McNeil

Team will be staying at the Country Inn & Suites ( same place as last year.)

Agenda:  Presentation of budget plans for the year and expenses. 

District pays entry fees -

Approximately $10,500 expenses

Currently 39 families in Booster Club

43 team members -need $200 per swimmer

$860 left to be raised after booster club dues

Swim - a -thon fundraiser money due end of Oct. , $100 donation will get name printed on the back of the shirt. 

Grades begin to effect eligibility. 

Trojan meet this Friday, 10/06/17 at Waterloo swim center.  Bus will be provided.  Team dinner after meet.

All meets posted on website -see event information. 

TISCA times good for 1 calendar year ( qualifying times on website. 

$640.00 raised for Coach Dan .

Mighty Maverick Nation!!!  It was an honor to have so many fantastic individuals with such impressive talent show up interested in representing McNeil High School in this year's UIL competitive season.

Please understand that the selection process is extremely difficult and is one that is not taken lightly.  Everyone who showed up has obviously spent many years working on their craft of swimming.  If you happened to not have made the roster this year, I recommend you continue to swim with a local year round program and tryout again next year.  Thank you to everyone for their interest in our program and congratulations to the 2017-2018 McNeil Varsity Swimming & Diving Team!!!

All of the above athletes should be receiving an email about up-coming team business.  If you do not receive an email by August 1st you should contact Coach Foss at johnny_foss@roundrockisd.org .  Our first practice will not be until after the first day of school, but we have a LOT of business to take care of before the start of school.

Monday, July 17th AND Tuesday, July 18th

***Please be early in order to complete information forms, confirm physical evaluation clearance, turn in grades, AND give yourself a good warm-up before tryout begins promptly at 9 AM***

YOU MUST BRING...

1. Physical examination by a doctor on RRISD form(see below link)

If you got your physical through McNeil HS you still have to bring a copy of the physical to tryouts. NO PHYSICAL = NO TRYOUT!...NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

2. COPY of most recent report card(new swimmers only)

3. Swimming apparel and equipment(goggles, suit, cap, etc.)
     - Divers should expect to attend Monday's session only.  I only need contact information for you and your parents as well as contact information for the club and coach in which you train(divers must be trained by a licensed diving coach outside of RRISD).  You will not be required to dive at tryouts.

4. Running apparel(shoes, shirt, shorts, etc.)(we will run first)

Budget in good standing 

estimated  cost of banquet $2500.  Booster club will pay for each swimmer's meal; other family members cost $18.00 per person. 

Mrs. Bogusch needs to know where seniors are going to college before banquet to create senior displays. 

Responsibilities for banquet:

Ticket info will be sent out after spring break. Flyer will have tear off that can be returned to pre-purchase tickets and provide head count of how many are coming.  Tickets must be bought in advance, no ticket sales at door. All attending will check in and have name on list to receive a ticket for food. If no food is desired, people can come watch for free, but that number needs to be included in head count in advance so there are appropriate number of seats. 

Parents of seniors are encouraged to attend next Booster meeting (April 3rd) so that they can stay after a few minutes to ensure all plans are accounted for. 

Water Polo tryouts this Thur. -20 will make the team

First tournament this Friday 03/10/17 at Micki Krebsbach pool

Girls: Fri 5;45 p.m. Sat. 8:00 a..m.

Top 8 score, Top 6 advance to Regions

Timed Finals -no prelims

Friday only 1-27

Only A relays

Thurs 1-26,  District dinner at the Chin home

2. Regional Meet ( 1 week later) Feb. 3 & 4.  Rockwell, Tx.  

Charter Bus will leave Thur. during the day.  55 seats, 49 kids, Competitors, alternates, and Managers will  travel. ( McNeil and Round Rock teams most likely too big to travel together this year. )

Prelims begin at 1100 Friday 2/3.   24 swimmers-  only to 16 in finals,  A final & B final , 1 & 2 from A final advance to State  

Discussion of how to take care of snack bags and posters for Regionals due to possibility that we will share a bus with a team other than Round Rock.  Foss will check with the other teams’ coach to see if they would like to participate.  Decision made that we will purchase all supplies for the snack bags and offer to the other team to see if they would like to put them together.  We will make all posters.  Discussed possibility of having a working meeting on 1/30 to get everything done before Regionals.

Discusses breakfast before Regionals.  We will do a “grab-n-go” breakfast on 2/2 after practice for the entire team.  Booster Club will provide tacos for main entrée and a sign up will be sent out for parents to bring remaining food items needed.

Future schedule:

Between Regionals and State Competitions…state competitors will practice.

After State, the entire team will take a 2 week break from practice then the following schedule will resume :  A Day: dryland/swim and B Day: water polo (if enough interest)

End of Year Banquet will be held in April.  Date and place are still to be determined.
