Booster Club Meeting minutes – May 7, 2019

Attendees: Coach Foss, Coach Carter, D. Trevino, M. Harris, H. Freeman, S. Hess, J. Wilson, J. Moran, K. Mashburn
Agenda:
1. Budget – Incoming monies- state t-shirts, percentage of sales from Tony Molleur photography, money from water polo team using our equipment.
2. A motion was passed to reimburse Mavs UIL officials who worked a number of swim meets, the $30 UIL registration fee. Debbie Hess will be in contact with them soon.
3. Post banquet – again, an excellent meal! Thank you to the Scruggs and Bates for a fabulous meal. The facility was great & flexible with the timing. Next year, banquet may be moved to a Friday due to the number of seniors. The video will be posted so all can enjoy it soon. Foss is deciding how best to do this with the seniors.
4. Website- the booster club will begin work on the new website this month so that it is up and running this summer and ready to take orders for gear after tryouts.
5. All monies/checks need to be in by June 1 so Debbie can finalize account and ready it to turn over to new treasurer.
6. Next year’s Mavs hosted meet- “MavWood” – hosted with Westwood at Waterloo facility. Date is set – Wednesday, October 30. Mark your calendars as we will need lots of parent involvement to put on a well run meet and make some profit for our team. Along with timers, we have a list of positions to ensure swimmers’ safety and that the facility is taken care of. We will run a concession stand and rely on donations from swimmers and stores and local restaurants. Looking to invite up to 10 teams. Early morning start (warm ups-8:00 am, meet @9:00 – tentative). Meet will end and we will clean up and be out between 2:00-3:00.
7. This year we made $1204.90 from fundraisers. We plan on fundraising again next year towards the charter bus for Aggieland Invite and being able to secure a bus sooner.
8. Senior boys and girls have decided on suits for next year. Foss will start looking into team apparel soon after hearing how the RRISD contract with athletic teams and Under Armour affects us.
Meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
